The only proper way to end to a relaxing day of fishing is by cooking up your catch and
having a nice meal, killing anyone who comes near your campsite. One must enjoy the simple
pleasures.
A Fish Called Dinner
Your fresh catch is prepared much like any other food, in an oven or
(more likely) in your portable spit. The difference is that many of the recipes call only for
a certain kind of fish, such as salmon, for example; in that case, any sort of salmon can be
used in that recipe.
Several recipes call for items that you won't find on a corpse and can't purchase from a
merchant, such as berries. These items can usually be acquired by threatening a nearby druid,
and are emphasized accordingly.
Other recipes call for additional utensils, like skewers and smokers. These are emphasized
also; have your enslaved potter or smith craft them for you. These items can be used repeatedly, as
they are not consumed in the preparation, so having a single one available will suffice.

The bottom-feeding Boar Carp is your key to this
so-so fillet.

You can use either the Despair Chub or the Rujarkian
Chub to make this swamp-dweller's classic.

| Cod |
Orange Flavored Cod |
Cobalt Cod Emerald Orange Kelp
Garnish Oyster Sauce |

This special cod recipe requires some scrounging
around, but it makes for a nice change of pace. I wouldn't want it for every meal,
mind you. Bonus SV POISON +1, SV DISEASE +2.
|
| Cutlassfish |
Rolled Cutlassfish |
Bat Wing Cutlassfish |
142 |
|
If you want the finest-tasting fish rolls, you'll need
to pull in some Iceclad Cutlassfish. These aren't as filling as your basic Fish Rolls,
so be sure to make a few extra.
|
| Fresh Fish |
Fish Head Soup |
Fresh Fish Jug of Sauces Water Flask

|
When you're not quite sure just what kind of fish you
reeled in, but you know that it's fresh, rest assured in the knowledge that you can
cook it up into an aromatic soup. |

Fish Fillet |
Fresh Fish Jug of Sauces |

If you use enough sauce and serve a proper stupor-inducing
beverage, no one will bother to ask what kind of fish you used. |
|
Fish Rolls |
Bat Wings Fresh Fish |

These are surprisingly filling, and a single
serving is enough for a banquet.

| Muskie |
Marinated Muskie |
Fish Wine Muskie Snake Egg Oil

The next time you catch a Rathe Muskie, find yourself
a brewer to provide you with some Snake Egg Oil and prepare this feast. It's one of
the best for flavor. Bonus STR +1, SV POISON +2,
SV DISEASE +2.

| Pike |
Pike Fillet |
Jug of Sauces Pike |

|
The best Pike Fillet is made with the Hound Pike, but
Highland Pike isn't too bad.

| Roughy |
Vegetable Roughy |

Roughy Vegetables |

|
I'm not much for vegetables in my fish. There's just
something unnatural about it, even if it does make for a filling banquet. Bonus
SV POISON +2, SV DISEASE +2.

| Salmon |
Salmon Fillet |
Jug of Sauces Salmon |

If you're not gutting your salmon for eggs, fry up that
Greengill Salmon or Thunder Salmon and have yourself a meal.

When you really want hearty seafood repast, prepare
some shark fillets with your favorite recipe and enjoy. It's a nice change from
the smaller fillets, and makes up for the extra trouble of shark hunting. |
|
Smoked Shark |
Shark Meat Spices Smoker |

I prefer Smoked Shark to other shark preparations.
The fillets and rolls are good, but not this good. |
|
Shark Rolls |
Bat Wing Shark Meat |

|
I hear that the banquet-sized Shark Roll is popular
in Erudin.
|
| Trout |
Trout Fillet |
Jug of Sauces Trout |

|
Bloodfin Trout, Cauldron Trout and Fogwater Trout all
make for a fine fillet. |
|
Canyar Nut Stuffed Trout |
Bag of Canyar Nuts Garnish Spices
Trout |
<= 144 |
|
I haven't had a chance to try this particular dish
yet. I'm betting the Fogwater Trout gives this recipe a better flavor than either
the Bloodfin or Cauldron Trout, but I'll reserve judgement for now. Bonus
STA +2, SV DISEASE +2.

| Whitefish |
Salty Whitefish Fillet |
Oyster Sauce Salty Whitefish |

|
The Salty Whitefish only goes well with oyster sauce,
regular sauces just ruin it.

There are undoubtedly more seafood recipes that I'm not aware of; why, I read a new fish
recipe in the paper just last week. If you happen to run across one (or if you can narrow down
one of the less-exact trivial points), share the details
and I'll update the list.
