How many times have you been wandering through the Plains of Karana, starving to death, with no food cart in sight? Unlike those uncivilized druids and elves, it is not our way to eat anything we find lying on the ground. No, the proper necromantic style is feasting on the fallen.

A Dish Served Cold

So... the beast that approached you with less-than-proper respect is now a warm twitching pile of meat destined for rapid decomposition, and you're hungry. What do you do?

It's quite simple. Pluck one of the edible portions of the dead lump and place it in your spit. (You do have a spit, don't you? If you don't, there are several places where one can be purchased, or you can enslave a potter or a smith to craft one.) Decide how you'd like to prepare your meal, and place any additional recipe items into the spit as well, being sure that nothing is stacked. Combine the ingredients. If your baking ability is up to snuff, you'll have concocted a tasty morsel fit for gnomish consumption. If you botched it, deny everything.

Several recipes call for additional utensils, like skewers and smokers. These are emphasized; have your enslaved potter or smith craft them for you. These items can be used repeatedly, as they are not consumed in the preparation, so having a single one available will suffice.

Merchants who stock standard baking supplies like spices and frosting are widely available throughout Norrath. In Velious, however, other supplies like oyster sauces and seaweed vinegar are the norm. Shop accordingly.

I have not included several recipes for traditional baked goods like cupcakes and whatnot. If you're standing around with a pile of chocolate and wondering whether you should make muffins or cake, you've lost that necromantic edge. Hide in shame.

Seafood recipes have a place of honor elsewhere, although you'll find a few of them listed here under other ingredients.

	Even as snacks go, White Chocolate isn't very filling. Quite the delicacy in some areas and virtually unknown in others, due to the local brownie density. Don't try the recipe in an oven or spit, it won't work – you need to use a mixing bowl.

	Much like White Chocolate, Winter Chocolate is a light snack, fairly regional, and whipped up in a mixing bowl. Unlike its lighter counterpart, it is well known and highly prized; Winter Chocolate has more devout followers than Bertoxxulous, which tells you something about the world.

	Mind you, your basic chunk of meat isn't one of the choice cuts that demonstrates unique flavor, like wolf meat or lizard meat. Trust me.

	Maybe it's something that happens in the pickling, but siren has a generic, unidentifiable seafood flavor that's just eerie. 	Take your basic uncooked Woolie Spider Crunchies, add some spices into the mix, cook them down longer, and you've got a fine snack that's a bit tastier. You've cooked away the supplemental nutrients, but who cares?
